Facing a vast esplanade, the monument presents visitors with a front in pink sandstone of the Vosges 100 metres in length. On the wall there are 16 elements bearing high reliefs in bronze. In the centre the Cross of Lorraine soars 12 metres into the air. An empty vault is reserved for the last Companion of the Liberation.
