Etang Colbert garden
The lake, which is situated in the commune of Le Plessis-Robinson, was excavated on the orders of Colbert, Louis XIV’s Minister, in order to create a huge reservoir to meet the needs of the ornamental ponds in the grounds of the Château de Sceaux. Nowadays the reservoir has become a fishing lake and provides the opportunity to walk along its banks in peaceful and shaded surroundings and observe the many water birds which now make their home there. Angling, children’s play area, water fountains. Area: 3.5 hectares.
